The symbol below was removed from the Big Book in the middle of 1994 because of copyright complications. But the Circled Triangle is actually an ancient spiritual symbol meaning 'Mind, Body and Spirit,' united as one.

Our 3 legacies, 'Recovery, Unity and Service', are thought of as 'a three legged stool' representing balance.

The Circle Triangle Symbol

“The fact is that most alcoholics… have lost the power of choice in drink” (BBp24).

If I could choose not to drink, I would. Only God can remove my compulsion, He restores my sanity by using me to help fellow sufferers.

“Moon above placid water”
(Tao-Reflection).

My selfish thinking is like muddy water; it clears if undisturbed. Just as still water effortlessly mirrors the moon, so my clear conscious naturally reflects God’s Spirit. /

“Life’s task is to identify and separate matters not under my control…” (Epictetus).

I must define my limitations, between what I can change and what I can’t. It won’t alter my past, but I will mold my future by staying aware of God’s grace.

“The kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21)

God's Power is really the primal 'Power of Being,' everyone’s born with it, but free will adds selfish judgements. I must decide between grasping and clinging to everything, or faith in God’s Power to provide.
